The Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook protects the individual rights of all students. The Handbook was made with students, faculty, staff and administration in mind. In it, you can learn more about college policies and programs that create a safe learning environment for all students.
Topics in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook include:
- Student's Rights and Grievances
- Disabled Student Services and Programs
- Grade Changes
- Dismissal Procedures
- Student Discipline, including Prohibited Conduct and Disciplinary Actions
- Academic Honesty
- Tobacco Use on Campus
- Non-Discrimination and Sexual Harassment
- Grievance Form
- General Student Petition
- And much more
If you have a complaint, you are encouraged to work through the campus complaint process first. This process is usually the quickest and most successful way to come to a resolution. Please refer to page 30, section X of the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook for a list of Compliance Officers' contact information. If you wish to file a Grievance form, please refer to pages 31–32 of the handbook; for the General Student's Petition, refer to pages 33–34.
If your issue is not resolved at your college campus, you can submit a complaint form to the The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
