Prerequisites, Corequisites and Advisories

Need to enroll in a class that has a prerequisite, corequisite or advisory? Find out what these requirements mean and how to clear them.

What Prerequisites, Corequisites and Advisories Are

Prerequisites and corequisites are classes that you need to take so you can enroll in another class.

A prerequisite is a class that you must take before you can enroll in another class
A corequisite is a class that you must take at the same time as another class.
An Advisory is a class that we suggest you take, but you are not required to meet this condition. Meet the advisory before or at the same time as you enroll in a class.

If there is no special information in a class listing, then there are no conditions to enroll.
