Library and LRC (Learning Resource Center)

Learn more about the Libraries and Learning Resource Centers (LRC) on the Rocklin, Nevada County, Tahoe-Truckee, and Roseville Gateway Campuses.

Rocklin Campus

The Campus Library contains more than 98,000 volumes and subscribes to over 200 periodicals. Reference and research information can be obtained electronically through ProQuest for magazine, journal and newspaper articles. Other specialized electronic research databases are also available such as Literature Resource Center and CQ Researcher. The media collection contains many video tapes and DVDs which can be watched in individual viewing carrels or group viewing rooms.

Nevada County Campus

The Nevada County Campus Library has more than 18,000 volumes and subscribes to over 100 periodicals in print. Daily courier service from the Rocklin campus gives students access to the collection at main library. Internet access is available to numerous research databases, as well as our library catalog and our e-book collection.

The Nevada County Campus Library offers a full range of services and is also the distance learning testing and support center for Nevada County.

Tahoe-Truckee Campus

The Library/Learning Resource Center at the Tahoe-Truckee Campus of Sierra College is growing in both collection and services. Just five years old, we have over 2000 titles, 275 reference books, textbook reserves and we subscribe to 45 periodicals, all of which complement our course offerings. Interlibrary loans enable students to borrow from our other campus libraries.

We share the same E-book collection and research databases with Rocklin, NCC and Gateway, and our study area is quiet and serene. Ten computer stations provide internet access, word processing and assistive computer technology. We offer tutoring in a number of disciplines as well as research and term paper formatting. Our testing center offers proctoring services for online classes and makeup exams as well as fee based testing for out-of-district students.

Roseville Gateway

The Library Services/Student Study Center offers comfortable surroundings for study and relaxing to over 1,400 students on the Roseville Gateway Campus. Thanks to the generous donation by the United Area Indian Council, our facility for Library Services and Student Study Center is equipped with computers and printers to serve the ever-growing population of Sierra College students at the Roseville Gateway Campus. Two stations have adjustable table heights to meet the needs of those in wheelchairs.

Reference assistance is provided by a librarian and library assistant via the online reference resources, such as research databases, used on the main campus. Class and individual orientations to research are offered on demand.
