Academic Probation Letters

If you have received an Academic Probation letter, learn what Academic Probation means and how we can help you.

What is Academic Probation?

You will be placed on academic probation if you take at least 12 units at Sierra College and earn a cumulative GPA of less than 2.0 in all attempted units. You will be removed from academic probation when your cumulative Sierra College GPA or your term GPA reaches 2.0 or higher.

Academic Counseling

The letter invited you to see a counselor. We can help you overcome Academic Probation. Make an appointment with Academic Counseling.

The Limitations of Academic Probation

As part of probation, you are limited to taking 13 or fewer units per semester. You may be required to take certain courses or be barred from certain courses until you are removed from probation.
